     While Genesis Birthing and Living acknowledges the obstacles against black birthing women, it does not accept them because founder Shayla Brown has overcome enough of those obstacles and has supported enough women through them to understand that with the help of God, access to knowledge, and strong support systems, trauma-free birth is abundantly available to birthing women.
